I am a freelance photographer based in Stroud, Gloucestershire.
Capturing natural, happy memories is my biggest passion, These shots create the best memories for families and that's what it's all about!
Since taking the scary leap and starting my small business in January 2021 I've taken a natural path towards family photography. From maternity, newborn, whole family sessions to Weddings! If you have a shoot in mind then please do get in touch! I'd love to capture them for you!
Being born and raised in the Cotswolds it's given me great local knowledge of beautiful locations for natural outdoor photoshoots! But if you're a little further out, it's not a problem at all! I can travel to you!
A little about my photography journey..
After completing a diploma in Photography at College I felt the sudden rush of.. oh! I need a full time job!! this is how I landed working in a dog rescue centre, this may seem random considering I studied photography, but growing up, we always had pets so it felt natural to me to work with them! after around a year I took on the social media platforms.. can you guess where this is going? Pet photography! Rescue animals + a photographer creating their rehoming profiles, it only made sense! and what fun I had doing so! I'd always find myself rushing through my general kennel jobs to spend time snapping the rescues!
After 4 years at the rescue and rehoming one of my all time favourite pooches Mavis (I'm sorry.. yes I did have a favourite!) I felt complete and needed a new challenge. January 2020 I set up my own dog walking business, but guess what, covid struck! so July 2020 I found myself scrolling for a new job, I had to go back to my roots and I just knew it had to be in photography full time!
I found a photography job at a large kitchenware company and after a competitive application process I got the job! 2 and a half years later and I'm still there but running Chelsea Mae Photography along the side of it!
I think this is why I will never shy away from photographing something new, because I've worked across a range of fields! Family photography and weddings is where I truly shine, but I also love shooting for small businesses and pets!
Get to know me a little more..
Dog mum, interior design obsessed & lover of the countryside. You'll usually find me in my local woodland with my Labrador Major! Failing that, I'll be editing from the sofa with a cuppa!
On weekends, If I'm not shooting me and my fiancé love nothing more than getting away in our converted campervan Berry! Exploring the Peak District followed by soup in the camper is my idea of heaven!
